Shaping Wellness with Niki at Rosedale Massage

·

Q: Gyorgy, you recently started doing massage. What inspired you to join Niki in this business?

Rosedale Massage is more than just a massage studio; it’s our mission to redefine relaxation and wellness. We aim to provide a tailored experience that goes beyond a typical massage. I’ve been involved from the beginning, supporting Niki every step of the way. Over the years, I’ve become passionate about what we do and wanted to join as a therapist. My hospitality background, paired with a love for wellness and learning about the human body, inspired me to bring a unique touch to our studio.

Q: How has your journey been transitioning into the massage industry, and what challenges have you faced?

It’s been intense but very rewarding. I had a background in fitness and nutrition, but learning the anatomy and techniques behind massage has been a whole new experience. Managing the increasing workload while continuing to learn new business skills is a challenge, but it’s all part of the exciting journey we’re on.

Q: What unique perspective do you bring to Rosedale Massage as a new therapist?

I’m particularly passionate about using deeper pressure and precise muscle manipulation to enhance our clients’ experience. I aim to incorporate stretching techniques and, in the future, add a wellness component with nutrition. I believe small, nutritious bites after a massage could support the body’s recovery and overall well-being.

Q: Can you describe your first experience with a customer and how it impacted your view of the profession?

My first experience was incredibly positive. Seeing the effects of touch therapy and the relaxation it brought to my client gave me a new perspective on how powerful massage can be. The feedback I received was reassuring; the client enjoyed the deep, soothing touch, and her visible relaxation made me appreciate the impact we can have.

Q: What aspects of the massage industry excite you the most, and where do you see opportunities for innovation?

I’m excited about providing a complete, tailored session for each client, addressing their needs beyond just muscle tension. There’s so much potential to integrate wellness techniques that benefit not only the muscular system but also the nervous and digestive systems. In the future, I see an opportunity to incorporate wellness elements like fresh juices or small, nutritious snacks to make our treatments more holistic.

Q: How do you and Niki balance running the business together? What strengths do each of you bring to Rosedale Massage?

Running a business together certainly has its challenges, but we balance each other well. Niki excels at creativity and attention to detail, ensuring every treatment meets her high standards. I’m more focused on efficiency and organization, making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes and that we’re using our space and time as effectively as possible.

Q: Can you share a story about a customer or mentor who made a significant impression on you?

Instead of a customer, I’d like to mention my tutor, who had a huge impact on me. He taught me that massage doesn’t have to be painful to be effective—this was eye-opening for me. His approach emphasized the importance of being gentle while still achieving deep muscle release, and that’s something I’ve integrated into my own practice.

Q: Looking ahead, what are your personal goals as a massage therapist, and how do you plan to achieve them within Rosedale Massage?

My immediate goal is to deepen my skills in trigger point therapy and deep tissue work. In the long term, I aspire to be a well-rounded health and wellness expert. I plan to achieve this by continuously learning—whether through workshops, certifications, or keeping up with the latest research. By incorporating new methods and holistic approaches, I aim to offer comprehensive treatments that truly support our clients’ well-being.
